A fulfilling life is one filled with passion and purpose. But doing what you love can be quite complicated. Many of us have been told to pursue our passions, but the reality often comes with challenges that can be daunting.
So how, exactly, do we find and then live our passion? Y-Combinator founder Paul Graham, wrote a fantastic 2006 article about it called How to Do What You Love. It’s absolutely brilliant.
Gathered here are insights, so-called quotes about passion, from ten thinkers who have contemplated the art-science of making your life’s calling a living.

Essayist Paul Graham about not overthinking your personal inclinations and passions:
“Prestige is just fossilized inspiration. If you do anything well enough, you’ll make it prestigious. Plenty of things we now consider prestigious were anything but at first. Jazz comes to mind—though almost any established art form would do. So just do what you like, and let prestige take care of itself.”

“There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep yourself open and aware to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open… No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatsoever at any time. There is only a queer divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others.”

‘…Extraordinary people display calling most evidently. Perhaps that’s why they fascinate. Perhaps, too, they are extraordinary because their calling comes through so clearly and they are so loyal to it….
