Every month, I publish an answer to a reader question. Here’s a transcript of my answer to one of my favourite readers’ questions: Hi Lisanne, if I asked you at age 5 what you wanted to be when you grow up – what would you say?
In my very early years I wanted to be a book writer. Being able to make a living off my writing has been my dream ever since I was little. From the time I started to watch television I fell more or less in love with journalism. Basically because it was the kind of life I wanted to live. To me, a journalist was the epitome of the ultimate adventure – from meeting new people, to travelling the world, and learning several languages. It was just incredible to me to be able to get paid for reading books and writing stories, and be given the permission to ask people unlimited questions about things I genuinely wanted to know. Finally, there has also been a time when I wanted to grow my own business, probably because I grew up around entrepreneurs and love the process of creating. I realise that the platform allows me to combine all of the above things, which is a wonderful thing.
